Here's one of my other projects. It's a Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) Senator. It's a '94 model, or VR series as it's known over here. HSV is a tuning and high performance production arm of Holden, which is GM in Australia. HSV would be similar to what SRT is to Dodge or what Callaway is to Chev.
They didn't make many VR Senators back in the 90's. You could call it a rare car. The Senator was the hi po luxury variant that they do. They also do a no frills version called the Clubsport and a hi po version without the luxury called the GTS.
I picked mine up cheap as it was in run down condition. I've been trying to find the time and money to restore it and give it more performance than standard. It's a long term project. Some of my pics aren't that clear so here's a pic I pulled off the web of what mine looked like from the factory (this one is sitting way too high for my liking):
Here's a link to a build thread I'm doing on another forum. Hope it's of interest to someone.
Chris, I went to your link, WOW what a large and busy forum. That car will be a fantastic investment, should give back much as far as enjoyed driving with more and more envy from the public. Cars are going to be getting smaller and smaller so preserving one of the big V8 rear drive cars is always a smart thing to do. I have to say that your build thread with its attention to detail on having the correct interior and the future driveline mods look great. It brought back fond memories for me when I owned a Chev Belair 4 door sedan that was made as a Police interceptor. Normally the upscale "Impala" had a nice interior but this vinyl bench seat and vinyl floor version had LOTS of different driveline and mechanical upgrades to set it apart performance wise. I just remember changing up the interior and many changes to the engine and suspension to find out the true potential of an already good performing LARGE sedan. Burying the Speed certified 220 kph speedo while racing and beating ;D a Mustang on the freeway/ interstate was a highpoint.
