hello friends! this is my REX:) Well a big welcome to you, Some times it helps to talk about someone, if it brings them in. Really like your car and your passion for it is obvious. Do you have any stories about it you would like to share? What is it like trying to get parts where you are? Keep us posted please.

At the moment I can share plans for the restoration.
First of all, the elimination of corrosion of the body and reworking the brakes. Stock drum brakes deliver a lot of problems. I am looking for front disc brakes for 12 inches. Then plan to buy and install EK23/Z - 6 valves, supercharger, intercooler, electronic injection, 56 horsepower and 5MT transmission. Motor is of course very rare, but in Japan can still buy about 500 USD.
At the moment, set a good sound system with component speakers 16.5 cm, but after body repairs will be re-laid cables for it. As well as installing electric glass lifts.
Wheels 12 inches 145/70. There are original alloy wheels Subaru Justy 12 inches, I think they fit.
after installing EK23/Z think it would be appropriate to set the front stabilizer. But as long as I do not know from what model will fit.
PS I apologize for my bad English, I use Google translator
PPS Important - I could not find the spare parts catalog for my body and release. If anyone has a spare parts catalog for body KF-1/KM-1 please share.

I would like to add about EK23/Z. In this forum, there is no information about him. EK23 ThreeValve Supercharger Bore x Stroke mm = 76.0 x 60.0 Piston displacement = 544 cc Compression ratio = 9.0:1 Three valves per cylinder (two intake, one exhaust) Water-cooled intercooler maximum output 55 PS (40 kW; 54 hp) at 6,400 rpm Used in the Subaru Rex Supercharger (1988–1989) (c) wiki Photo

Where can I find an EK23/Z complete engine/wiring/ecu etc & gearbox. I would love one for my Sherpa. Maybe even consider looking at fitting head & supercharger to the EK42 engine ;D. Any leads would be appreciated. This would make an interesting conversion here in Australia.

The front stabiliser from a Sherpa could be a possible option. With regards to the front disc brakes on Sherpa's they had 2 different size wheel studs. The '82 that I have has got what I think are 10mm studs & the '84 & '86 have got what I think are 12mm studs. I am guessing the Rex would have the smaller studs & the Justy would have the larger studs, which means if you use the Justy wheels you will have to change the studs. I think the stud pattern on both the early & late Sherpa's are the same. Will try & get some pics of the Sherpa's front brakes on Sunday & post them.

I suspect that with the installation of a block EK42 may have problems ... 6-valve engine pistons with grooves valves.

I want to share one story. Just last night, coming home from work. But the famous Russian roads have made some changes in my life. Heavy rain, large puddles on the road, storm drainage can not cope. Picture taken a little later, when the rain had stopped, so the photo pit is visible. The right front wheel end. Right front wing hushed. subframe torn off from the left side with a portion of longeron. I will plead. But such cases are rarely solved positively. And litigation do not last less than a year. PS All with the last day of victory over Nazi Germany. We celebrate May 9. Although my great-grandfather fought the Japanese in Manchuria and Korea until the end of the Second World War.

Looks sad . Are you ok? Do you think it is repairable or she a rite off? Is Russia right hand drive?

So sorry to hear about your bad luck. I can imagine what a huge down pour of rain it was to hide that "Pothole". And yes I heard that Litigation in Russia over accident's is tough. That is why Russia has the most use of Go Pro camera's mounted on the dash to record accidents for the court case. In this case it would not have helped. We are really hoping that you are able to get your lower right front suspension reattached and the parts you need are found easily.

I'm fine. Speed was small and I was strapped.
On the far east of Russia 90% of vehicles with right-hand drive.
Repair a simple. But first I need to make the examination of damage to ships.
