Now I see where you got that earlier picture from. That is a bunch of nice older race cars. Be nice to look at the engine setups, mind you you can see the motorcycle engined powered one well. I looks like a big go cart Where abouts was this hill climb staged, how much elevation change is there over ____ how long of a course?

The hill climb was staged in Penguin, Tasmania. Penguin is a town on the north west coast, right on the coast. The climb was done in one of the streets called The Deviation or The Devy as the locals called it. The Devy was a sealed street, length & elevation I don't know but I will see if I can find out for you. I took some pictures of a car that was at the opposite end of the scale to our micro cars, it was a 1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost with a 7.8ltr engine in it. I will post some pics if anyone is interested.

At last here are those pics of the 1925 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost I promised months ago. Old timers disease don't you know . s1306.photobucket.com/user/lincolntbird/library/Rolls%20RoyceIn the pic of the right hand side of the Rolls you can just see the back corner of my Sherpa, which gives you a little bit of an idea of the size difference ;D. The engine in the Rolls Royce is a 7.8ltr six cylinder. That is almost 12 times the capacity of the Sherpa engine ;D .

Man a 25 Rolls Royce. Can't imagine how it ended up close to you in front of an Antique store! Almost looks like it is ready to sprout wings an take off like a Hollywood Chitty chitty bang bang. If cars could only talk and tell you all that they have been through eh?

A friend of mine has a '58 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud. The day I saw the Silver Ghost my friend had hosted the Rolls Royce club at his place just out of Deloraine for the weekend. Therefore he was able to give me some of the details on the car.
