Getting parts for the VIvio is a pain outside of Japan, I have found a few places that will ship parts to Canada... I searched Japan for parts with the google translator but at times it does not convert to english well. What do you do to access parts? Any idea's? I note a fair bit of blogs that are fun but hard to understand. One item i need ... Anyone confirm 100% that the head gasket is 11044KA230 for the 1992 vivio RXR ? what about the cylinder head torque ? My poor car has a bad valve zero compression .. nice ... i had one injector not clicking fixed that and flushed them all then my valve let go... parked now for 5 years ... have to get it going

Anyone confirm 100% that the head gasket is 11044KA230 for the 1992 vivio RXR ? So I went and called a place that I feel is the best to deal with , regarding researching and suppling Japanese Domestic parts to North America. They are a small but friendly, effecient, knowledable shop that gives decent prices with no b.s. about shipping. He said that the number you qouted is for a Vivio but couldn't tell for sure if it is for the EN07 "X" Version that we have in the "RXR" Iam not sure the single cam version of the EN07 is or uses the same head gasket as the Twin cam. All you need to do is call the toll free number you will find in the following link and have your meager- by North American standards Serial number for your car handy. Then he can check online to make sure that the gasket he can deliver to your door is the correct one. www.rockymountainimports.net/He is on Vancouver Island British Columbia, so be mindfull of the time difference for you when you make the call! Still looking to see about bolt torque specs but I think that the single cam bolt specs would be the same and that info can be found alot easier. There is a Factory service manual for the Sambar mini tucks that has been translated to English. Might be able to find that info on the Sambar or mini truck forum. There are links to that here on this forum. Would love to hear about how you managed to get one of these little screamers and more info about your cars color and condition.

Sad that you only got a short month or two to enjoy your Vivio before the valve problem cropped up. You bought it in 2008, was this from a JDM vehicle importer or did you make the import arraignments yourself? Back in 2008 there was many different companies doing a fair bit of business importing all the JDM cars and nowadays they are mostly all gone. I find it is near impossible to get the 1 or 2 still operating by me to even consider bringing in a half cut or a rough complete car to be used for parts. That company I mentioned though is a proven resource and can reliably get whatever parts you need to get the car going again.

You guys have been lucky to be able to have access to cars like the Vivio RXRs & the Justys etc. All we ever got here was the Sherpas & the Fioris, not that there is anything wrong with them, it's just that you guys get to play with the go fast micro cars ;D . Still thinking about & looking into getting an EK23/Z front cut or engine .

I have seen where there is atleast 1 if not 2 Vivio RxR's in California, But the United States will not allow the registration to drive on public roads any Kei Jidosha Vehicles. Yet they are worried about fuel consumption rates as a nation! There is rumblings of rumours that the ability to register Kei or any right hand driver vehicles may be taken away on future imports. Hope that never comes to pass. There are so many right drivers here where we drive on the right and sit on the left that I don't even notice it anymore. What they have done is that the Original manufactures have instructed the Dealerships to NOT support the JDM vehicles in anyway with either parts or even to look up to verify if parts numbers are correct. Keep your chin up, you are relatively close to the land of the rising sun where all things that are Micro and good originate. Maybe something from the Tsunami will wash up on shore ;D

I thought I was the only one registered in California! Who's the other one? Welcome back, long time no hear.. ... Yes this place is still alive.. .. just not all that busy! As for your question.. I used to do research by looking for Vivio's in Google images. I know I had seen pics of what I believe is your car posted by the previous owner who imported into California, As you will notice I posted the above statement about 1 or 2 in California before you joined and I said 2 "Possibly" because I probably saw a picture you had posted of the car without all the race decals and such.. As it turns out these are both the same car! How goes it with your car today, do you drive it often?
