Joke or no joke I wouldn't let either of these guys anywhere near anything of mine . Whilst on about foreign substances in engines, an old trick for deg-lazing an engine without pulling it down was to have the engine running & trickle feed some Bon-Amie cleaning powder down the carby. . A trick for decoking an engine was to trickle feed some water down the carby whilst the engine was running-worked a treat, watched my Dad do it to a mid '60s Rover years ago, lots of soot & stuff ;D.

Yes, Manny - Manny Moons ago when I was an apprentice Mechanic, I saw the lead Mechanic use Bon Ami. We had just rebuilt the engine on a Caterpillar D9 Doser. The rings were not sealing as the cylinders were not de-glazed good enough. You need experience when doing this as if you use just a bit too much then you wear out the brand new engine! The water trick sounds like it would work, judging from what I saw when I pulled apart the Justy engine that had a blown head gasket. The tops of the pistons looked brand new. ;D
