This is not a question regarding replacement, rather an idea that came to me that, at the time, was like a giant light bulb turning on over my head. I have always found it to be a pain in the butt to get at the roll pin on the pass.side front. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks , Three bolts to remove the stub axel from the block, the do the roll pin out in the open where it is easy to get at. Worked like a charm... Wish I'ld thought of it years ago. Don't forget to disconnect the battery cables as your ratchet/wrenches will be hovering around the back of the alternator. Hope I am not the last owner to learn this, that could be embarrassing. ;D

Or you could use a cotter pin, My old 95 legacy had cotter pins in place of the roller pins. Never had any problems whatsoever, Just an idea
