So to be clear, are you making the shims smaller in diameter and then measuring and using the ones that are the right thickness for each valve? Suppose you want to elaborate with some pics of the Suzuki tool and all being used on the head? Thanks for the info, it is appreciated

yes, some of the valves were very tight - some were loose i switched a lot around but was forced to make some .. i have photos here somewhere pushing down the bucket .. same as some motobikes I took a photo just now of the tool and you can see one larger shim at the bottom i had to grind just a bit off the edge so it would fit in the bucket Rotor86 Attachments:

small update here I did the valves in 2009 , must have used this tool but anyhow shims were changed and set per factory ... i think .005" and .007" but i will have to check - i did them at around 82,000 km Attachments:

i'll get better images on this tool i do think this is the one i used as I bought every tool to see what would work the best, the Suzuki tool would not hook on the bucket i think .... i did this 4 years ago ...... doing good just to find the images .. Dam buy a car drive for two months and park for 4 years .. that was not a good plan.
