You gotta love love those engines ;D. Have read about or seen some of those engines . There where a couple of Knocker Commer engines for sale earlier in the year only about 40K's from home, was almost tempted to go & have a look . I think the Veyron would nearly be my favorite . There was a lot of ingenuity & creative lateral thinking went into all of those engine .

I like the Lanchester twin crank for its smoothness and the Chrysler multi bank. what would happen if a modern engine was tied together with 4 more of it.s brother engines, Who wouldn't like to hear the roar of a 30 cylinder engine eh?

Thirty cylinders certainly would be something awesome to hear . What sort of brain food do these guys consume to come up with these designs ;D. A modern day thirty cylinder engine could be something to think about, what would you use as the basis for such an engine .

How about a very strong well proven Japanese 4 cylinder design times" 5" It would ONLY be a 20 cylinder engine but more compact. Say 5 Over 2 liter K series engines from Honda. The whole batch turbo charged getting a reliable 400 hp each. So that would be over 2000HP from 10 liters of engine. That would get the job done! ;D Another idea would be to stack 2- 6 cylinder Subaru boxer engines one on top of the other like the H engine. I would think you could even get that to fit into a car.

I like the idea of the two Subaru 6 cylinder boxers ;D, how about with turbos as well For the thirty cylinder job I was thinking something along the lines of 5 Ford Falcon in-line sixes, maybe even the XR6 turbo ;D .

Rotaries are just incredible engineering. They're actually 2 strokes as they use ports instead of valves. They are also incredibly flexible in design, you literally add a joining plate and bolt on another rotor.
I envision a ceramic rotary, which would counter the less efficient nature of existing rotary technology, by improving heat efficiency... the one killer for all internal combustion engines.
