Hi all, I am having trouble with 2 cylinders not firing in my vivio rx-r. The car is 1993 and in ok shape, needs a bit of tidying up. I have inspected/tested the entire ignition system and feel the issue lies withing the ECU. Basically one of the transistors in the ECU isnt firing so I either replace the ECU or cheaper replace the transistors. Can anyone point me in the direction of either finding an ECU or just the components which are fuji electric transistors ET 424. Pic below of Transistors.

How did you narrow it down to those parts?... I can't provide any real technical help as I'm not that strong with electronics and sources for that... But about all I can suggest is you go on ebay and try to find the parts there......Sorry.

Hi justified, thanks for the reply. I love getting into the tech side of cars, plus i am lucky enough to have some very good friends that are mechanics. In short two cylinders wer not firing, having done a number of tests we figured out the ground or negative was not switching from the ecu to fire one side of the coil. The components above which are transisters switch the ground on an off fast to fire the ign coils. Very good video on youtube about testing coils incase you ever have any issues. Search how to test wasted spark ignition coil system
