Hi My name is Gonçalo and I would like to know your opinions and advice for this my project. I havê a 87 Subaru Rex/700SDX with EK42 engine (with 96000km), and would like to know what they think of I remove the stock carburetor and put twin 28mm mikuni carbs and make a homemade headers. I do not intend to extract the maximum from the engine I just look for a little more fun and an engine with an improved response. I also have some questions: what are the common problems of the EK42 engine usually give problems like head gasket, piston rings, burnt valves, etc. People leave your comments / opinions about the mods and problems.

Welcome, not much going on here anymore so I have not logged in for awhile...Sorry. The idea of putting on a bigger carb should give you better responce but I think it will be at the expense of using more fuel... The EK42 is very sensitive to being over heated and having a bad head gasket as a result. maintain the coolant levels..
